Project Manager - Maternity Leave Cover

Aurora Universities seek a temporary Project Manager to cover maternity leave. The Project Manager will support the Secretary General in managing and executing the Aurora 2030 programme dedicated to advancing higher education across Europe.

Your function

The Project Manager will be essential in maintaining the Aurora 2030 programme's progress while ensuring the continuity of the reporting cycles and the smooth operations of the different teams.

Tasks

  • Provide operational and tactical support to the Secretary General in the implementation and delivery of the European University programme
  • Ensure timely reporting of the work plan by:
    • Supporting the teams’ leaders with the production and accomplishment of their deliverables and milestones
    • Supporting the reporting process (gathering and processing data, providing help to teams’ leaders, preparing presentations, etc.)
  • Engage with solid relationships with the Aurora internal stakeholders (Institutional Coordinators and teams’ leaders)
  • Support the financial management of the Aurora 2030 programme
  • Coordinate the communications with the EACEA and support the Secretary General with communications with other external bodies when needed

Your profile

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or a higher qualification
  • Between five and ten years of relevant work experience in project management/coordination
  • Competence in managing complex international activities in terms of operation, administration, finance and goal attainment
  • Experience working in an international setting across different languages and cultures
  • Proactive and interculturally sensitive
  • Proficient in English at the level of at least B2 in the Common European Framework of languages
  • Excellent MS Office skills (including Excel)

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of European policies in the field of higher education and European cooperation
  • Experienced in using project management tools
  • Experience with financial administration

Competences

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to improvise
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Dynamic, energetic and has a positive mindset

  • a salary of minimum € 3.378,00 (Scale 10) and maximum € 6.209,00 (Scale 11) gross per month, on a full-time basis. This is based on UFO profile Project Manager 4. The exact salary depends on your education and experience.
  • a position for at least 0.8 FTE. Your employment (maternity leave replacement) will be temporary; from 1 February till 15 August 2025.

  • A full-time 38-hour working week comes with a holiday leave entitlement of 232 hours per year. If you choose to work 40 hours, you have 96 extra holiday leave hours on an annual basis. For part-timers, this is calculated pro rata.

  • solid pension scheme (ABP)
  • contribution to commuting expenses
  • a wide range of sports facilities which staff may use at a modest charge
