Assistant Professor Oral Radiology & Digital Dentistry

ACTA invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Radiology & Digital Dentistry. Starting 1 July 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Your function

As an Assistant Professor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting high-quality, independent research in oral radiology and related fields, with results published in leading international journals.
  • Teaching, mentoring, and examining students in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Post-graduate programs, and potentially supervising PhD candidates.
  • Securing external funding to support research activities.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within ACTA and beyond to advance academic and clinical goals.

You will work closely with Dutch and international colleagues, contributing to ACTA’s vision.

Your profile

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • A PhD degree or an equivalent qualification recognized internationally.
  • Proven experience in teaching and supervising students at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Fluency in oral and written English. Non-Dutch speakers are encouraged to learn Dutch, and ACTA provides language training to facilitate this transition.

Additional qualifications:

  • A dental background with Dutch authorization to practice dentistry within four years of appointment.
  • A completed postdoctoral Master's degree in Oral Diagnostics or Medical Imaging is an advantage.
  • A completed specialization in Dentomaxillofacial Radiology is highly recommended.

  • a salary of minimum € 4.537,00 (Scale 11) and maximum € 6.209,00 (Scale 11) gross per month, on a full-time basis. This is based on UFO profile Lecturer / Assistant Professor 2. The exact salary depends on your education and experience.
  • a position for at least 0.8 FTE. Your employment contract will initially last 1 year. Afterwards, the possibility of expansion exists.
