Management assistant Communication Science department

Your function

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive management assistant who enjoys contributing to the smooth functioning of the Communication Science department. In this role, together with your direct colleague, you will support the lecturers and researchers of our department. Do you have a service-oriented attitude, are you a skilled communicator, and do you take initiative when needed while maintaining an overview? Then we would like to hear from you. 

Your duties

  • act as point of contact for the management team, employees, and guests of the department
  • organizing and planning meetings, assigning and monitor following up actions
  • answering emails and occasionally taking minutes
  • organizing events, from workshops to (bigger) conferences
  • arranging facility matters, such as reserving rooms and placing orders
  • monitoring budgets and processes
  • onboarding new employees
  • managing and archiving documents in Teams

Your profile

  • Higher Professional Education (HBO) working and thinking level
  • Several years of relevant work experience, preferably in a similar position
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • Digital skills, proficient with e.g. Office and Teams
  • We are looking for a colleague who is available 17 hours per week. The working days are negotiable, yet we would appreciate it if you are available on Mondays.

  • a salary of minimum € 3.057,00 (Scale 7) and maximum € 3.985,00 (Scale 7) gross per month, on a full-time basis. This is based on UFO profile Management-/Office assistant 2. The exact salary depends on your education and experience.
  • a position for 0.45 FTE. Your employment contract will initially last 1 year. Afterwards, there is a prospect of a permanent contract.

We also offer you attractive fringe benefits and regulations. Some examples:

  • A full-time 38-hour working week comes with a holiday leave entitlement of 232 hours per year. If you choose to work 40 hours, you have 96 extra holiday leave hours on an annual basis. For part-timers, this is calculated pro rata.
  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus
  • contribution to commuting expenses
  • solid pension scheme (ABP)
  • optional model for designing a personalized benefits package

Driven by their passion for the field, they work on groundbreaking education and research.
