The Business Developer will focus on identifying and developing valorisation opportunities within the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, with a particular emphasis on Amsterdam Movement Sciences (AMS), an innovative research institute. AMS is a collaborative institute of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Amsterdam UMC. Its mission is to optimise physical performance in both health and disease, and to translate this expertise into solutions that enhance human physical and mental wellbeing.
As a Business Developer you will pro-actively support researchers in bringing their research ideas to the market, e.g. by protecting and licensing Intellectual Property (IP), by supporting and initiating a start-up or by facilitating contract research with public or private partners. The Business Developer will be the first point of contact for academic researchers as they aim to bring their research product to market and will be the vital link between the faculty and the central organisation. The Business Developer acts as a key intermediary between researchers and external partners including the various established Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and guides the researchers through the initial phase of bringing a research product or IP to the market.
